We want YOU at the 25 Year Class Reunion!!!

The reunion committee has been doing everything it can to assure that the 25 year event is a truly memorable occasion.  The percentage of classmates that attended our 20 year reunion was significantly above the general averages for attendance.  We’d like to keep that momentum going for this event as well, but we need your help.  Yes, there are some very valid reasons that many of our classmates can’t make the “Main Event” (or any of the reunion), but if you CAN come to it and just aren’t sure yet, we hope the following will help convince you to join your fellow classmates in on the fun.

You say:  I’m only going to the Durty Nellies event on Friday.

We say:  We’ll certainly look forward to seeing you at Durty Nellies, but you’ll still be missing half the fun.  This type of weekend only comes around once in a great while – say, no more than every five years – so why not do both?  Durty Nellies will of course be fun, but it’s also much more limited in what you get.  The Main Event offers the perfect environment to relax and catch up with fellow classmates.  An open bar virtually all evening, excellent food, music on request, some special events, pictures, giveaways, etc. etc. etc.  Sure, you may need some recovery time on Sunday, but it will have been worth it!

You say:  The ticket cost for Saturday is pretty expensive…

We say:  On the surface the cost may seem high, but when you consider everything involved it’s really no different than a nice, fun evening out.  Additionally, we’ve checked out other efforts, and in comparison to other classes over the past few years we’ve managed to actually offer more at a lower ticket price!   This is not a critique of those classes, it’s simply to point out that the committee did its homework and is trying to give you the most bang for your buck.  We cover our costs for the event, and everyone has a great time.  Good for all!

You say:  I’d kind of like to see who’s going first, then I’ll make my decision.

We say:  We have published a list, but the important thing is to get YOUR name on it.  The more people on the list, the more the attendance tends to snowball into a much larger crowd.  For our 20th the vast majority of people bought tickets within the last 7-10 days before the weekend began.  There’s no need to wait, and see, it will happen.  Plus, if you get YOUR name on the attendees list now, you help convince others to sign up right away, and this helps everyone.

You say:  I’ll just plan on attending a future reunion.

We say:  That’s great, and we hope to see you at that time!  However, to assure future events will happen, much will depend on the success of THIS reunion, the availability of committee members to plan such events, and of course general interest.  At the moment we certainly plan on having more gatherings in the future, but honestly there is no assurance that there will be a 30th reunion - or others for that matter.  Unfortunately it seems that some PHS graduating classes have not or no longer do anything for their reunions.  It would seem unlikely that the Class of 1983 would go that route, but you never know . . . a lot can happen in the next five years, and life is too short and unpredictable to guarantee anything.

Point is, not only do we WANT you and NEED you at our 25 year class reunion, so do your fellow classmates The event will be fun and prove to be well worth the time and expense.  Plus, your attendance will also have a positive influence on plans for future reunions.  So please don’t delay - go ahead and buy your tickets now, and everyone will look forward to seeing you in mid-July.
